This website is owned and operated by Gilton and Gander. Throughout the site, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Gilton and Gander. By visiting, browsing or using this website you approve that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

Sale of Goods

We always try to describe our goods for sale as fully and accurately as we possibly can to the best of our knowledge. We endeavour to provide history, age and details of the items for sale where information has been available; as well as any defects or faults that we are aware of. However, it is important to note that the goods we are selling are used, vintage or antique. In many instances there is often age-related wear and tear or other characteristics that can be associated with age and use, these are normal attributes to the appearance and nature of antique, vintage and used items. These signs of use are to be expected and we feel they add to the authenticity and charm of the goods we are selling. By placing an order on our website, you are acknowledging the nature of the goods we are selling.

When purchasing an item from our website you are agreeing that:

1. You are responsible for reading the full item description before making a commitment to buy.

2. You are entering into a legally binding contract to purchase an item when you commit to buy and you complete the check-out payment process.

The prices we charge for our goods are listed on the website. We reserve the right to change the prices for goods displayed at any time and to correct pricing errors that may inadvertently occur.

Health and Safety

All the goods we sell are original vintage and antique products that were manufactured before current health and safety standards. We do not, under any circumstances, guarantee any compliance with health and safety standards or fitness for any kind of purpose.

Any electrical items we sell, whilst they may be safe to use, will be vintage or antique and therefore are very unlikely to meet any current UK standards. Although we may have had the electrical goods inspected for our own use and display, we strongly recommend that all electrical items purchased or rented from us are inspected, PAT tested, certified and installed by a qualified electrician, who can insure that the items and their use are protected by a residual current device (RCD). We will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury or death caused by electrical goods that have not been professionally inspected, tested and certified by a qualified electrician.
